Africa Program Director Monde Muyangwa Facilitates the African Land Forces Summit in Abuja, Nigeria

On April 16-19 2018, Africa Program Director Monde Muyangwa facilitated the 2018 African Land Forces Summit (ALFS), the theme being “Unity is Strength: Combatting Africa’s Security Challenges.” ALFS was co-hosted by U.S Army Africa and the Nigerian Army, and  convened African land force chiefs, U.S. Army Africa personnel, and security experts for candid dialogue regarding best practices in combatting regional security threats through cooperation and capacity building.

Dr. Muyangwa facilitated the event and led insightful conversations ranging from command and control in the African operational environment, to strategies for protecting the populace while countering terrorist organizations. The Summit provided an inclusive platform for senior U.S and African military leaders to deepen relationships, exchange best practices, and establish sustainable solutions to confront regional and continental security challenges.
