Full Biography

Cooper William Vardy is a current junior at the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University pursuing a major in International Politics and Security with a minor in Portuguese Language. His principal academic focuses revolve around authoritarianism, counterterrorism, and transnational insurgency in the tri-border region between Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay.

Prior to his arrival at the Brazil Institute, Cooper interned with the United States Foreign Service in São Paulo as a Junior Economic/Political Officer, and will be attending Pontifícia Universidade Católica – São Paulo in spring. On campus, Cooper is a senior member of Georgetown’s International Relations Club, which sponsors Model United Nations conferences catering to over 5,000 university and high school students yearly, and plays as a jazz and bossa nova bassist.
