Full Biography

Hannah Metzler did her PhD at the Sorbonne University in Paris and has a background in psychology and social and affective neuroscience. She is currently a member of the Computational Social Science lab at the Complexity Science Hub Vienna. Her research aims to understand how emotions and social processes influence communication in personal as well as digital environments.

She applies methods like text analysis and machine learning to capture emotions from digital trace data, and investigates their effects on misinformation spreading on social media. She further explores potential contributions of news and social media content to suicide prevention.
