Full Biography

Sophie Egar is a graduate student of International Relations at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). She has previously worked at the Center for Latin American and Latino Studies, the Center for International Policy, the Cipher Brief, and on Capitol Hill for U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown. She advocates for gun violence prevention legislation and has conducted research on the impact of U.S. weapons proliferation. Sophie is an Emerging Expert for the Forum On The Arms Trade. Sophie earned a B.A. in International Relations from American University. She speaks advanced Spanish, and intermediate Italian, and is currently learning Portuguese.
