October 5, 202219:43

In this edition of Wilson Center NOW, we are joined by Haleh Esfandiari, Distinguished Fellow and Director Emerita of the Wilson Center’s Middle East Program. She discusses the ongoing protests in Iran, which were sparked by the death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian woman who died while in police custody. Esfandiari also provides insight into how these protests differ from past civil unrest against the government and the role young people are playing throughout Iran.
