Kennan Institute Congressional Relations

The Kennan Institute, Washington's premier institution for post-Soviet studies, sits at the intersection of rigorous scholarship and American foreign policy. Through a variety of policymaker outreach programs, the Institute fosters a more in-depth, collaborative, and diverse dialogue on Russia, Ukraine, and the post-Soviet region among experts and policymakers.

Our programs and outreach include the Kennan Institute Salon Dinner Series, which connects policymakers, media figures, and think tankers to Institute experts and guests; Kennan Institute Congressional Lunch Briefings for congressional staff and interns; Russia-focused master classes in collaboration with the Wilson Center's Congressional Relations office, which bring together senior level hill aides for a one day intensive course on Russia; and meetings and briefings with executive branch officials and Members of Congress and their staffs.

Kennan Institute

After more than 50 years as a vital part of the Wilson Center legacy, the Kennan Institute has become an independent think tank. You can find the current website for the Kennan Institute at kennaninstitute.org. Please look for future announcements about partnership activities between the Wilson Center and the Kennan Institute at Wilson Center Press Room. The Wilson Center is proud of its historic connection to the Kennan Institute and looks forward to supporting its activities as an independent center of knowledge.
