Kennan Institute Congressional Relations
The Kennan Institute, Washington's premier institution for post-Soviet studies, sits at the intersection of rigorous scholarship and American foreign policy. Through a variety of policymaker outreach programs, the Institute fosters a more in-depth, collaborative, and diverse dialogue on Russia, Ukraine, and the post-Soviet region among experts and policymakers.
Our programs and outreach include the Kennan Institute Salon Dinner Series, which connects policymakers, media figures, and think tankers to Institute experts and guests; Kennan Institute Congressional Lunch Briefings for congressional staff and interns; Russia-focused master classes in collaboration with the Wilson Center's Congressional Relations office, which bring together senior level hill aides for a one day intensive course on Russia; and meetings and briefings with executive branch officials and Members of Congress and their staffs.
The Kennan Institute is the premier U.S. center for advanced research on Russia and Eurasia and the oldest and largest regional program at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. The Kennan Institute is committed to improving American expertise and knowledge of Russia, Ukraine, and the region. Through its residential fellowship programs, public lectures, workshops, and publications, the Institute strives to attract, publicize, and integrate new research into the policy community. Read more
