Dr. Colgan completed his PhD at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. Previously, he was a Canada-US Fulbright Scholar at UC Berkeley, where he earned a Master’s in Public Policy. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics (specializing in nuclear physics) at McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada. In the past, Dr. Colgan has worked with the World Bank, McKinsey & Company, and The Brattle Group.
Jeff's current research specializes on oil and international politics. He is currently working on a book manuscript entitled Petro-Aggression: When Oil Causes War, forthcoming from Cambridge University Press. An article that previews the argument was published in International Organization (Oct 2010), and won the 2010 Robert O. Keohane award for the best article published by an untenured scholar. He has published work in several other journals, including the Journal of Peace Research, Review of International Organizations, and Energy Policy.
