Africa Program Director Dr. Monde Muyangwa recently participated in the second annual African Leadership Forum hosted by President Mkapa, former President of Tanzania, and coordinated by the Institute of African Leadership for Sustainable Development (UONGOZI Institute).

Africa Program Director Dr. Monde Muyangwa Participated in Second Annual African Leadership Forum

Africa Program Director Dr. Monde Muyangwa recently participated in the second annual African Leadership Forum hosted by President Mkapa, former President of Tanzania, and coordinated by the Institute of African Leadership for Sustainable Development (UONGOZI Institute). Held in Dar es Salaam, the forum brought together former African presidents (in addition to the current President of Uganda, H.E. Yoweri Museveni), as well as leaders from business, civil society, and academia from across Africa to discuss challenges to and solutions for moving towards a more integrated Africa. Key speakers included Presidents Mkapa, Museveni, Pohamba, Rawlings, Mogae, and Obasanjo as well as Dr. Salim Salim, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Mwalimu Nyerere Foundation, and the heads of several regional organizations. Dr. Muywangwa spoke on a panel entitled "Global Partnerships and Relations and their Implications on African Integration," alongside H.E. Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of Nigeria; Prof. Makau Mutua, SUNY Distinguished Professor and the Floyd H. and Hilda L. Hurst Faculty Scholar at SUNY Buffalo Law School; and Dr. Frannie Leautier, Managing Partner of The Fezembat Group.
