Dialogue Interview with Mary Olive Smith

June 10, 2008 - For many women in rural Ethiopia the scourge of fistula brings acute psychic as well as physical suffering. The affliction condemns victims to the life of social outcasts bereft of community ties and shunned by a hostile public. For a fortunate few, however, there is hope. On Wednesday, June 11th at 8:00 PM dialogue will broadcast an interview with Mary Olive Smith, producer of the award-winning documentary, A Walk to Beautiful. The film tells the stories of five Ethiopian women who suffer from obstetric fistula and seek treatment at the Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital.

This program will rebroadcast on June 11th at 11:00 PM, June 12th at 2:00 PM, and June 13th at 3:00AM. For cable channel listings in your area click here.
