Tres entidades de Estados Unidos aprobaron este martes el consumo de la marihuana con fines recreativos o medicinales, que se suman a los 17 que ya regulaban el consumo. Esta decisión obliga a México a analizar la estrategia de combate al narcotráfico a un mes de que inicie el nuevo gobierno de Enrique Peña Nieto.
En contraste, Eric Olson, director asociado del Instituto México del Woodrow Wilson Center de Washington D.C., dijo a CNNMéxico que "todavía no hay resolución sobre ese tema, así que en primer momento México debe no concluir que la política ha cambiado en EU. No estamos en ese punto todavía".
Explicó que si bien a niveles estatales empieza a haber un sentimiento muy local de que hay que pensar nuevas políticas en cuanto a la droga, la política oficial federal de la nación sigue totalmente opuesta y totalmente prohibicionista.
