WASHINGTON – The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars is pleased to announce that Nicole Gaouette is joining the Center as the new Vice President of External Relations. Ms. Gaouette will oversee the products and events that highlight the Center’s outstanding programs, experts, and scholars, and help expand the Wilson Center brand and reach.

Ms. Gaouette brings more than 25 years of journalism experience to the position, reporting from over 50 countries on national security, diplomacy, economics and politics for newspapers, multimedia companies, digital publications and magazines. She has been based in Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Washington.

“I’m excited to be joining the Wilson Center and supporting the breadth and depth of its independent, non-partisan research,” Ms. Gaouette says. “Since 1968, Wilson Center experts have guided U.S. policymakers and leaders in their decision-making with fact-driven insight and analysis. I’m honored to be part of a team that’s committed to this increasingly vital mission.”

“There are few roles more important to the Wilson Center’s success than leading our external relations team,” Ambassador Green stated. “With Nicole’s years of experience with major news organizations and in reporting from countries all around the world, we look forward to putting her skills and leadership to work as we fulfill our congressional charter to provide independent, non-partisan analysis.”

Ms. Gaouette has a BA from McGill University in Montreal and received her Masters of Science in Journalism at Columbia University in New York.
