NPIHP Partner Robert S. Norris Publishes in the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists

Article co-authored with Hans Kristensen presents "key milestones and facts regarding the nuclear pursuits of the first five states to develop nuclear weapons."

NPIHP partner and Federation of American Scientists Senior Fellow Robert S. Norris has published "Nuclear Pursuits 2012," in the January/February 2012 edition of the Bulletin of the Atomis Scientists. The article and accompanying table is on the history of nuclear developments in the first five nuclear states--the US, the Soviet Union/Russia, Britain, France and China.

Co-authored with Hans Kristensen, director of the Nucelar Information Project at the Federation of American Scientists, the article underlines the fact that the international history of nuclear weapons remains in its infancy. The dense, thoughtfully prepared comparative table of facts on first five nuclear weapons states is "intended as a jumping-off point for anyone entering the field to undertake serious research on nuclear history--something the world needs more of."

Visit the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists' website to view the article and table.
