A Statement Concerning MLK Day from the Black @ Wilson Employee Relations Group

On January 16, we will celebrate the life and the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  As the nation pauses to observe what would have been the 94th birthday of Dr. King, Jr., let us give thought to the man, his selfless service and his relentless pursuit of equity, inclusion and justice for all.  Through his simple acts of peaceful protest, he changed the world, championing diversity, equity and inclusion long before others took up the call to unite around those values.

In a time of global wars and pandemic, we must continue to find ways to strengthen respect and dignity, and to tangibly embrace the value of diversity. Dr. King once said, “The time is always right to do what is right.” Let us keep the legacy alive and all aspire to be drum majors for what is right.
