The Peace Process with the ELN in Colombia

Following the end of Mexico's facilitation of the peace process in Colombia, Ambassador Andrés Valencia remarks on the talks between the ELN and the government.

In June 2005, the Latin American Program and the Mexico Institute held an off-the-record briefing with Ambassador Andrés Valencia. Valencia had represented the Mexican government as facilitator of a peace dialogue between the government of Colombia and the Ejército de Liberación Nacional (ELN) from the period of June 2004 to April 2005. This was Ambassador Valencia's first public appearance since the collapse of the peace talks in April 2005. Remarks are available in spanish.
