May 25, 2021, marks the first anniversary of George Floyd’s murder. The Wilson Center remains committed to standing by our colleagues, our neighbors, our friends, and Black communities in the struggle for racial and social justice. We continue to hope that George Floyd will be remembered for his humanity, for being a son, a father, and a brother. On this solemn day, we reaffirm our willingness to identify opportunities that provide a window to domestic policy to international audiences, as well as our intentions to build confidence around the world in America’s ability to reconcile its past.
