The Global Women’s Leadership Initiative (GWLI) and Women in Public Service Project (WPSP) would like to announce an exciting, new opportunity for WPSP partner university students. Starting in April 2016, GWLI will be hosting an annual research competition for students of partner universities who have conducted written research on women’s leadership in public service.

This annual competition aligns with the WPSP’s goal of equipping and promoting the next generation of female leaders. We encourage students to think decisively on the future of women’s leadership in the public sector and share their findings and strategies with our program. Students who receive this award will be invited to the Wilson Center in Washington, DC for a half day of presentations, discussions, and networking opportunities with professionals and potential employers from a vast array of DC-based governmental and non-governmental organizations. Award winners will be given the opportunity to present their work and be interviewed at the Wilson Center. Finalists will also participate in a personal conversation with Gwen K. Young and a relevant Wilson Center staff member of their choice.

For this year’s evaluation process, the papers will be reviewed by relevant Wilson Center staff, scholars, and GWLI Director Gwen K. Young using a rubric based on originality, depth of research, and the paper’s contribution to the existing body of knowledge on women’s leadership.

Please submit all papers and a completed submission form to Chelsea.catsam@wilsoncenter.org by March 11, 2016 at 5:00pm EST.
