Richard King is Professor of American Intellectual History at University of Nottingham in England and was a former Fellow of The Woodrow Wilson Center.

William Faulkner was born at a time when the Victorian tradition was ending and Modernism was beginning. He was also deeply influenced by Southern history and the need to reinterpret it. In this conversation, Richard King describes Faulkner's influences and discusses several of his masterpieces.
