On Thursday, September 8, findings from the new study, Informed Public Perceptions of Nanotechnology and Trust in Government, will be presented by live webcast at www.wilsoncenter.org by the Project on Emerging Nanotechnologies at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, a project created in partnership with the Pew Charitable Trusts. The study was conducted by Dr. Jane Macoubrie, a leading social scientist in communications studies and a senior advisor to the Project.
Her report offers a view of the nano applications and products people think are most important, examines who Americans trust most to manage nanotechnology's potential risks and highlights concerns about nanotechnology's use. It is based on a series of representative experimental issues groups held this summer in three U.S. cities – Cleveland, Dallas and Spokane.
