Don Lorenzo Servitje, founder of Grupo Bimbo and a noted philanthropist, received the Woodrow Wilson Award for Corporate Citizenship in a ceremony in Mexico City on June 10. Over 700 people attended the awards dinner, which was chaired by Eduardo Cepeda, Managing Director of J.P. Morgan. Mr. Servitje is the first Mexican to receive the prestigious award, which celebrates outstanding commitment from a corporate leader to the well-being of his or her community. The award has been given previously to business leaders in Canada and the United States. At the ceremony, Enrique Krauze, Alfredo Achar Tussie, and Marisa Servitje de Laresgoiti offered remarks celebrating the life and example of Don Lorenzo.
