Expert Bio
Alejandro is professor-researcher of the International Studies Division at the Center for Research and Teaching in Economics (CIDE) and Academic Coordinator of CIDE’s new campus, in Aguascalientes, Mexico. He is a member of Mexico’s National System of Researchers.
Alejandro’s research has focused on indigenous people’s rights and human rights in Mexico. His publications include two books and a series of articles in journals such as the Human Rights Quarterly, the International Journal of Human Rights and the Journal of Latin American Studies. His most recent book, The Country under Pressure: The Role of the Transnational Politics of Human Rights in Mexico (CIDE) is forthcoming next month.

"Human Rights: An International Relations Perspective"
Project Summary
While at the Wilson Center, Alejandro will be working on a text book on human rights for International Relations students. The book is due for publication next year by CIDE and OUP Mexico.
