Project Summary

American sovietology and its role in the shaping of American Soviet policy. Descibes and analyzes the type of explanations offered by American scholars to Soviet foreign policy behavior and to analyze the political role of American scholars concerned with Soviet foreign policy and the external conditions of American sovietology.
