Full Biography
David Kershenobich Stalnikowitz, MD, PhD, is Director General of the Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Médicas y Nutrición, Universidad Nacional Autonoma de México in Salvador Zubirán, México. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and specialized in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at the National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition. Later, he specialized in Hepatology at the Royal Free Hospital in London and obtained his PhD in medicine from the University of London. His field of research is focused on the study of liver diseases. Dr Kershenobich-Stalnikowitz has contributed to approximately 500 publications and has written 81 chapters of books. He has previously served as President of the Mexican Association of Internal Medicine, Mexican Association of Gastroenterology, and International Association for the Study of the Liver. He has received several awards and distinctions, including the Miguel Otero Research Prize and the Medal Eduardo Liceaga of the General Council of Health in Mexico. Dr Kershenobich-Stalnikowitz is a member of the Real Academies of Medicine in Spain and Cataluña, and honorary fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in England.
