Project Summary

examination of the working class of the city of Ivanovo-Voznesensk and its surrounding Shuia uezd from approximately 1890 through the end of the Civil War in 1921; examination of the working classes from the point of view of their experiences both in the workplace and in the city, factory village and/or countryside, as expressed in their dealings with government authorities, industrial management and, through the court system, with each other.
