Project Summary

Looks at strategic issues surrounding the Caucasus, including oil and pipeline poiltics in the Caspian Basin, the military and political situation in Chechnya, the ongoing conflicts in the geopolitical setting of the Caucasus (Karabakh, Chechnya, Abkhazia, Ossetia), the role of the Russian military, Russia’s strategic relations with Iran, and the increase of US presence in the region.
