Fernando Aportela

 Fernando Aportela holds a degree in Economics from the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico and a PH.D in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was a professor of finance at the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico. Dr. Aportela served a General Director of Economic Research at the Bank of Mexico, Area Director of the Economic Cabinet for the President of Mexico, and as a member of the advisory team of the Secretary of Finance and Public Credit. He also held the position of Undersecretary of Revenue for the Government of the State of Veracruz. In 2004 he joined Protego, where he was Director of Public Finance and Infrastructure, and prior to his current appointment, he was a managing partner at the investment bank Evercore Partners. Dr. Fernando Aportela was appointed Undersecretary of Finance and Public Credit on December 6th, 2012.
