    Full Biography

    Ivan Grdesic is a former public policy scholar with the European Studies program at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, as well as a current professor of political science at the University of Zagreb. His research interests include governance issues and policy analysis, elections and political parties, power research in local communities, new democracies and transitional issues as well as NATO enlargement. Grdesic previously served as the Ambassador of Croatia to the United States from 2000 to 2004, when he took a temporary break from his professorship at the University of Zagreb. During the early part of his career, Grdesic also taught at Virginia Polytechnic Institute as well as Indiana University.
