Project Summary

Describes Russian chidren from birth through childhood and adolescence into early adulthood. Makes comparisons to other Soviet children and American/non-Soviet European children in order to highlight the distinctive characteristics of Russian children. Indicates the ways that politics, economics and social structures impinge upon Russian childrens’ development. Suggests areas that US educators might benefit from the Soviet educational system.
