Researches the Jangali Movement (1915-1921), an anti-foreign movement that sought to liberate Iran from Anglo-Russian influences. Despite its defeat, examines the movementÂ’s lasting influence upon young Iranians opposed to both the Pahlavis and the Islamic State. Attempts to demystify the historical accounts and provide a factual account of the first Soviet diplomatic conflict at the conclusion of the Russian Civil War.
