Expert Bio

Piatto is the executive director of the Institute of Forest and Agricultural Management and Certification (Imaflora). She has been part of the organization since 2005, when she started as climate and agricultural chains manager.  

Piatto is graduated in Agronomic Engineering by USP (University of São Paulo), she also holds a master’s degree in Tropical Agriculture by the University of Bonn, in Germany, and has worked for over fifteen years in the areas of agriculture and livestock supply chains as well as in climate change. 

She has been focus on deforestation free production, low carbon farming practices and social rights in the commodities sector such as soybeans and livestock in the Amazon Forest and the Cerrado.
