Pamela S. Johnson

Pamela Johnson is the founder of PSJ Advisors. Ms. Johnson has over 20 years of leadership experience in housing finance and risk management. She brings a unique blend of analytical and problem-solving skills to her engagements. She has been a champion of balanced and prudent risk management strategies and housing policies that protect and strengthen businesses, consumers and communities. Before founding PSJ Advisors, Ms. Johnson was the Senior Vice President and Risk Officer for Fannie Mae in Washington, D.C. from 2002-2006, where she set credit risk management strategies for the acquisition and management of residential mortgage loans. During her time with Fannie Mae she also developed and administered credit risk management policies, processes and systems. From 1998-2002, Ms. Johnson designed and executed the strategy for Fannie Mae's proprietary automated underwriting system, Desktop Underwriter,® which analyzes borrowers' credit history. Ms. Johnson was Vice President for Credit Policy for Fannie Mae from 1995-1998 and served as the company's Assistant General Counsel from 1993-1995.Ms. Johnson was Counsel for the Resolution Trust Corporation from 1991-1993 and was part of the team responsible for designing and executing the RTC's securitization program. She began her career as a practicing lawyer, specializing in public finance at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe in San Francisco and later at Ballard Spahr Andrews and Ingersoll in Washington D.C.In 2008, Ms. Johnson served as co-chair of the Homeownership Group of the Housing Policy Committee for the Obama for America Campaign.Ms. Johnson received her undergraduate degree from Brown University in 1980 and her law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1983. Ms. Johnson currently serves on the Board of Overseers for the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
