Rashid Khalidi is the Edward Said Professor of Modern Arab Studies at Columbia University, where he teaches courses on modern Middle Eastern history and Islamic movements.
Rashid has taught at Georgetown University, the University of Chicago, and Columbia University. He is the author of Palestinian Identity: The Construction of Modern National Consciousness (1997), The Iron Cage: The Story of the Palestinian Struggle for Statehood (2006), and Sowing Crisis: American Hegemony and the Cold War in the Middle East (2009) among others. Rashid has also published numerous articles, in the New Political Science, Hastings International and Comparative Law Review, Journal of Palestine Studies, and Global Agenda.
Rashid holds a B.A. from Yale University and a D. Phil. from Oxford University.
