a study on populations geography of Russia and the USSR

Project Summary

This project focuses on the allocation of fertility, mortality, age and sex data into a comparable set of geographical units for all censuses; male-female and urban-rural variations in age specific death rates and life expectancies from the turn of the century to the present; and comparisons of the Russian and Soviet experiences with those of other countries and theoretical formulations in regard to mortality and age-sex patterns.
