Sebastián Galiani

Sebastián Galiani is the Secretary of Economic Policy and Deputy Minister of Finance of Argentina. He is also Professor of Economics at the University of Maryland and a fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research and Bureau for Research and Economic Analysis of Development. He serves as associate editor of the Journal of Development Economics,Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, and the Latin American Economic Review. He has published in a number of academic journals, and his work has been featured in Science, the Economist, and the New York Times, among others. He has consulted with the Gates Foundation, United Nations, Inter-American Development Bank, Innovations for Poverty Action, World Bank, and several governments around the world. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Oxford.
