Stephen McConahey currently serves as Chairman of SGM Capital, LLC, where he oversees various public and private investments and participates directly in developing, financing, and advising start-up and early stage companies, particularly in the financial services sector. Prior to his stint at SGM Capital, Mr. McConahey served as co-founder, President, Chief Operating and Board Member for EVEREN Capital Corporation and EVEREN Securities, Inc. from 1994 to 1999. From 1990 to 1993, he was Senior Vice President for Corporate and International Development for the Kemper Corporation, Executive Vice President for Corporate Development for Kemper Financial Services from 1987 to 1992, and Chairman and CEO of Boettcher and Company from 1977 to 1986. Mr. McConahey held several political positions during the 1970s. from 1975 to 1976, he was a special assistant to President Ford, Program Administrator for the Urban Mass Transit Administration for the U.S. Department of Transportation from 1973 to 1974, and a White House Fellow from 1972 to 1973. Along with his membership on the Wilson Council Advisory Board, Mr. McConahey serves on the boards of: First Western Trust Bank; Macquarie Pro Logis Management Limited; IQ Navigator; Gerald R. Ford Foundation; University of Denver Daniels Business School; Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Denver; Metro Denver Sports Commission; Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce. Mr. McConahey holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin (1966) and a MBA from Harvard Business School (1968). He currently resides in Denver, Colorado.
