"One problem is that you have a lot of industries in china, small and medium enterprises, and and they are the bottom of the global supply chain. They can’t get the loans to get installed the equipment to really treat the water in the way they should, " said Turner when she expalined the causes of water polution in China. Another concern she mentioned is some of the dirties enterprises are moving further in land to poorer areas. “It’s kind of a way of deja vu, we’ve been seeing the better enforcement on the coast area, but it started to repeat itself further inland. However, with the water action plan that came out and increasing public awareness, Turner hopes to see the pause of the pollution.
