Daily Headlines: November 2010
China's environmental problems and the linkages to human health are increasingly making the news internationally. Most striking has been the growing number of reports from Chinese journalists on pollution and related health threats even after some government restrictions were put in place in late 2005 to limit reporting on sensitive pollution accidents.
As part of its work on the USAID-supported China Environmental Health Project, CEF is collecting news stories and reports from Chinese and Western sources that relate to major environmental health threats and promising policy developments, investment, and international projects in China. We will focus on reporting of air and water pollution, karst water issues, water shortages, the growing waste challenges in China, as well as Chinese government policies and projects meant to address these issues.
