Overview

The Federal Games Guild (FGG), an informal community of practice of federal agencies who are interested in the use and design of games for federal initiatives, will be hosting its first (un)conference. The purpose of this conference is to provide a platform to allow members to connect with one another and deepen their understanding of the application of games in the federal space. The event will consist of two primary activities, with the idea to keep it a relaxed and supportive event with the emphasis on discussion and collaboration: an unconference and a game arcade/demo space.

Preliminary Agenda:

1:30: Conference Opens, Large Convening and Introductions (both about the FGG for new members and ourselves)

2:00: Disperse to Unconference

3:15: Come back together, Highlight Key Points

4:00: Adjournment

The unconference itself would be a blend of a ‘traditional’ unconference and the “knowledge café” model, where we focus on organizing into smaller groups for knowledge sharing. The idea is one person will serve as the anchor for a particular discussion or table.

This is an invitation only event. If interested in attending, please email Elizabeth Newbury at Elizabeth.Newbury@wilsoncenter.org
