Macroeconomic policy coordination in response to rising inflation, climate emergency, pandemic recovery, and geopolitical tensions were among the topics at the Spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group in Washington, DC. A virtual delegation organized by Young Diplomats of Canada (YDC) connected 6 Canadians under 30 to observe presentations throughout the week. Wilson Center analysts Xavier Delgado and Zoe Reid are joined by Coralie Vachon-Cnockaert, Emilio Caputo, Jason Liao, and Mina Sidhu for a debrief on the substantive discussions and perspectives on Canada's current and future potential engagement in these multilateral institutions.
