Examines the position and role of workers in the USSR and Eastern Europe and the interaction between workers and regime in Soviet-type systems. Focuses on attitudinal, institutional, economic and political conditions and factors that shape workers’ orientation and conduct, and the impact such attitudes and actions have on the political development of the states.
