Includes: origins of the communities, legal relationship between the communities and the secularl and ecclesiastical authorities, the social origins of founders, donors and supporters, their goals and charters, the social structure of the communities, the economic life of the community, spiritual life, biographical sketches, ties to local communities and social and philantrophic role of the communities.
