"The Soviet Peace Campaign, 1953-1955"
Project Summary
The purpose of the research is to examine the extent to which the Soviet peace campaign was genuine as opposed to a propaganda exercise, to uncover and analyse the political and diplomatic calculations that led Moscow to pursue such a course of action, and to evaluate the independent role of communist-led peace movements and Soviet peace activists in shaping Soviet foreign policy priorities during this period.
