Full Biography
Dr. Maro Youssef is a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Southern California's National Science Foundation and a non-resident fellow at the Strauss Center for International Security and Law and the Institute for Middle East Studies. She holds a doctorate in sociology from the University of Texas at Austin. She previously served as a US diplomat, focusing on the Middle East and North Africa. Her specialization is in gender politics, social movements, democratization, and the Middle East and North Africa.
