Wilson Center Global Fellow Jean Lee was quoted in The Cavalier Daily about the sentencing of Otto Warmbier in North Korea. The University of Virginia student was recently sentenced to 15 years of prison for subversion after stealing a banner with a political slogan from a Pyongyang hotel in January. Lee spoke about the role of the Kim family in North Korean society, and how that played a role in Warmbier's sentencing.
