Washington - The Wilson Center announced today that Dr. Andrew Selee, currently Director of the Center’s Mexico Institute, will become its Vice President for Programs. Dr. Robert Litwak, previously Vice President for Programs, will be promoted to a newly created position, Vice President for Scholars and Academic Relations.

Announcing these developments, Wilson Director, President and CEO, Jane Harman said:

“As we restructure the Wilson Center to address key public policy issues in the coming years, it is clear that we need to elevate the critical scholar pillar at the Center.  As scholar, writer, and intellectual leader, whose devotion to this institution over three decades are well known, Rob brings great skills to this exciting, expanded role.

“The search to find a Vice President for Programs to lead important changes and work with the Center’s programs to move from excellence to greater relevance and to ensure the Wilson Center can be more than the sum of its parts was a short one.  Wilson’s respected talent pool produced a natural and top notch choice in Andrew Selee. Director of the premier Institute in its field, author of several books, a strong profile in the media, on Capitol Hill and on both sides of the US-Mexican border, position Andrew well to bring greater coherence and coordination among the Center’s programs. He will also help build national and international partnerships with other institutions in and beyond Washington that can enable the Wilson Center to thrive in the 21st Century.”

The Wilson Center looks forward to working closely with Rob and Andrew as they assume key new responsibilities.
