What if the Leading Voices of U.S. History had been Women?
96 years ago today, women in the United States gained the right to vote when the 19th Amendment went into effect. Since then, much progress has been made - but what if women's voices had always been a part of the national narrative? The Women in Public Service Project (WPSP), an initiative of the Global Women's Leadership Initiative at the Wilson Center, is excited to celebrate the women leaders making history in the U.S. and across the world. WPSP is committed to the 50x50 mission: a new global partnership aimed at reaching a minimum of 50 percent of all decision-making positions in public service held by women by 2050.
