As political developments were moving towards the current paralysis, the Lebanese media landscape underwent major changes, including the launch of several new media outlets. These changes reflect contradictory political dynamics, the most important of which is an increased sectarian tone in the Lebanese media, while paradoxically, non-sectarian and inter-sectarian media and politics appear to be growing as well, on the backdrop of the impasse over the presidential election.
