Bio

Andrea serves as Program & Research Assistant to the Wilson Center's Mexico Institute. She assists with program implementation, research, curating program content, and operational support with a specific focus on innovation, entrepeneurship, cybersecurity and energy. Andrea plays a crucial role in managing the Mexico Institute Advisory Board and in key programming around congressional initiatives such as the High Level Innovation Forum for Mexican Policy Makers and the Mexican Congressional Cybersecurity Lab. Prior to this position, she was an Outreach and Communications Assistant Intern at the Mexico Institute. Before joining the Mexico Institute, Andrea was a Scholar Research Assistant Intern for Senior Fellow and Distinguished Scholar Robin Wright, and coolaborated with the digital project The Islamists Are Coming.  Originally from Mexico, Andrea Tanco received a B.A. in Government from Smith College in Northampton, Massachussetts. She is also an alumnae from Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong.
