The Wilson Center's Latin American Program, the World Bank, and the Vidanta Foundation, hosted a high-level forum on Fostering Innovation in the Americas on Tuesday, June 12 at 2:30 p.m.
As a driver of economic productivity and social progress, innovation is impacting every region of the global economy. While both developed and emerging economies are capable of producing market-disrupting innovation, each tends to produce innovation with distinct characteristics and aspects. Understanding the trends and frontiers of innovation is no longer an abstract or novel branch of knowledge.
This high-level forum included key stakeholders from the public and private sector to examine the role of large firms in the region, the opportunities as well as challenges they face, and how innovation and increased productivity are critical components for the region's future economic growth.
